TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - With the holiday weekend approaching, local hotels are now taking extra steps to make guests feel safe.
The staff at the La Quinta on North Gloster Street in Tupelo added more procedures to not only meet CDC guidelines but also ease the minds of guests.
The hotel has protective barriers to protect staff and visitors.
“Bleach and Lysol have been our very best friend,” Head of Housekeeping Lucinda Ware said.
She said a clean stay for visitors is always a priority, but now her staff has new rules to keep themselves and guests safe.
“Where we just usually go in with a pair of gloves, now you have your masks and your gloves," she said. "They also have a sprayer where they can spray the bedding down before they are allowed to touch it.”
Ware said her staff is also only cleaning rooms as much or as little as their guests prefer.
The hotel put shields in place for guests to minimize contact.
She said now more than ever, when it comes to safety, they strive to do whatever will keep guests comfortable.
With the economy slowly reopening, the staff here at La Quinta said they are confident they can keep visitors safe.
