ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - The football team at Aberdeen High School is in quarantine after a football player tested positive for the coronavirus.
Aberdeen School District Superintendent Jeffrey Clay confirmed the football team will quarantine for 14 days.
Athletic Director and Assistant Principal Sherell Drake sent a message to parents of the players.
She said they may return on Nov. 2.
Leaders at Aberdeen High School also sent a message to parents saying several individuals in the school tested positive for the coronavirus.
Through contact tracing, the administration notified everyone who came in close contact with the affected individuals.
The individuals will quarantine for 14 days and continue virtual learning.
