ACKERMAN, Miss. (WTVA)—Although the weather canceled a high school’s scrimmage, the staff still wants a local team to play the upcoming season.
The Choctaw County High School football players and staff are following protocols to have a healthy season.
Jeff Roberts, Head football coach, said it takes 30-45 minutes to get dressed for practice because the team is practicing safety measures.
“We do want to finish the season. To finish the season, we have to follow all these protocols," he said.
Athletic Director Jim Woods said the sports teams will adhere to the governor’s order.
They will social distance during games, wear face masks and make changes to the concession stands and locker room operations, said Woods.
“We’re going to have to be very flexible," he said. "I think we had a great plan in place for this week as far as getting tickets to the opposing team, the number of people who will be allowed in the stadium."
