CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) - Magnolia Medical announced Friday the first case of Coronavirus in Alcorn County.
The information was not confirmed by the Mississippi State Department of Health until Monday morning. Magnolia Regional Health Center posted to Facebook Friday morning.
The post said a person tested positive for COVID - 19 at the hospital.
However, MSDH did not include the case its weekend's numbers.
Ben Tucker, the Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for the hospital said the patient is self isolating at home.
Tucker said the hospital is implementing stricter precautions in the wake of the case. He said staff members and vistors are getting screened before coming into hospital.
Tucker said patients cannot have visitors unless a doctor deems it appropriate.
