STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA)— Medical processionals provide advice on staying safe while navigating the Fourth of July weekend.
Dr. Douglas Tucker, OCH Regional Medical Center and Pain Management Clinic, said people should keep safety practices in mind during the coronavirus pandemic.
He said remember to do frequent hand washing, social distancing, covering your mouth when coughing and avoiding large crowds.
You should also wear a face mask, Tucker said.
Dr. Tucker said the key to staying healthy is “be vigilant about your own symptoms.”
If you’re traveling to another household for the holiday weekend, Dr. Tucker recommends following the CDC guidelines.
“If it’s reasonable to stay home I think it’s probably a good idea to do so, but don’t cancel being around family if you don’t have to," he said. "If everybody’s healthy it’s okay, just be smart."
