(WTVA) — Coroners reported two more coronavirus deaths in the area.
An 82-year-old woman died Wednesday at the hospital in Amory becoming Monroe County's fourth coronavirus death, according to coroner Alan Gurley.
Lowndes County got its first such death with the passing of an elderly person Thursday morning in Columbus, according to coroner Greg Merchant. The family said the person was a 94-year-old man at a long-term care facility.
It is not clear when those deaths will be added to the daily total of coronavirus deaths provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health.
The agency can be a couple of days behind in reporting these deaths.
Itawamba County coroner Shelia Summerford said her county had its first coronervirus death over the weekend. As of Thursday, it still had not been added to the state's count of people killed by the virus.
