COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - Columbus Mayor Robert Smith ended the citywide nightly curfew Wednesday at 6 a.m.
City leaders enacted the curfew on March 21 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“I appreciate the cooperation of our citizens during these trying times,” Smith said. “The curfew was put in place to protect our citizens, and now as part of our ‘Restart Columbus’ work, I am allowing the curfew to expire. At this time, ending the curfew is the best decision for our city, our residents and visitors as we work to return life to normal."
