COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) — Barbershops, hair salons and fitness centers in Columbus can reopen Monday just like others across Mississippi.
Mayor Robert Smith announced Friday he was delaying their opening until the Restart Columbus committee met Monday.
However, the meeting was moved to Saturday after people reached out to him by phone and online.
Committee members agreed to go along with Governor Tate Reeves' order that he issued Friday allowing those businesses to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday.
Also allowed to open Monday under state guidelines are nail salons, tattoo parlors, tanning salons and spas.
