MCCONDY, Miss. (WTVA) - A Chickasaw County woman recalled her experience recovering from the coronavirus.
Shirley Judd said she caught the virus back on Labor Day.
“I couldn't get out of the bed,” she said Tuesday. “And I didn't know what was wrong."
Judd suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS).
According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, current evidence suggests that simply having MS does not increase the risk of dying from COVID-19. However, the possible long-term consequences of having MS may make people more susceptible to having a severe case of COVID-19.
"I thought it was my MS flaring up, you know, and I called my auntie and said, ‘Would you come and take me to the doctor?’”
Members of her family also contracted the virus, including her mother, with whom she lives with. However, they’re all doing well now.
The virus is not a joke, she warned.
