BLUE SPRINGS, Miss. (WTVA) - Many nurses and doctors are scrambling to find protective gear amid the Coronavirus outbreak.
Top healthcare officials said there is not enough gear stock piled to meet the needs of the health care system as the pandemic continues.
Ashley Hankins and her daughters are trying to help out these health care professionals by providing mask. When the family heard health care professionals were in need they got to work.
"I thought well we are stuck at home, and we have the time. So, I thought maybe that was a way I could help out, and it was good because my three daughters are at home from school. So, they wanted to get involved and help," said Hankins.
Hankins made a Facebook post letting people know about their project. The request started pouring in. Over a hundred people have requested mask.
Once the mask are done Hankins' daughters drop them off to hospitals and doctor offices in Lee County. They plan to make the mask until supplies run out.
