BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Alabama officials say confirmed cases of coronavirus infection have risen to more than 131 statewide.
The latest numbers Saturday from the Alabama Department of Public Health are up from 106 confirmed infections Friday.
Meanwhile, the state health department says it will allow child daycare facilities to remain open as long as they follow certain limitations, backing off a prior order closing all child care centers to help slow the spread of the virus.
The agency says in new guidance that daycare facilities may open as long as fewer than 12 children are in a room or other other enclosed space.
