ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - Aberdeen's football team is under quarantine after a positive coronavirus test.
Because the football program only reported one case, the team could have quarantined for only one week.

However, Aberdeen School Superintendent Jeffrey Clay said the district decided to make it a two-week quarantine.

The school district reported other cases.
Clay confirmed the district had one positive case at the middle school and two cases at the high school.
He said the Aberdeen School District has been active with routine temperature checks and other safety measures.
The district is doing a good job combating the pandemic, he said, and will continue to follow its safety plan.
“We just need to continue on the path that we’ve been on since we started school on September 24th.”
He appreciates the support from parents.
“We feel like we’re doing what we need to do to ensure the safety of our faculty and staff, and most importantly, our students and community.”
