ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) — Aldermen in Aberdeen pushed back the city's municipal election a second time because of the coronavirus.
They voted this week to hold the party primaries on June 2 with any necessary runoffs on June 16.
The general election is now set for July 7.
City Clerk Jackie Benson said aldermen made the move since Monroe County is a hotspot for the disease.
Municipal elections were originally set for April/May, but last month, aldermen moved them to May/June.
