ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - Increasing COVID cases and recent outbreaks are making the Aberdeen School District adopt a new, hybrid learning schedule.
Grades K-12 students will rotate days of attending in-person classes.
Aberdeen High School students will be split into two groups: Blue team will attend in-person classes Mondays and Wednesdays; the White team on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
District leaders said the goal is lowering the number of students on school campuses at one time.
"We miss the students and we are ready for our students to get back in the building," high school principal Tracy Fair said. "This hybrid schedule will allow our students and our teachers to be in-person on certain days and to be able to have some deeper discussion."
The hybrid learning will start with one group on Friday, Sept. 10, and takes full effect on Monday.
