BLUE SPRINGS, Miss. (WTVA) - People with an interest in working on cars might find their place at a manufacturing plant in Blue Springs.
Resource MFG is looking for new hires to fill about 100 production roles.
The plant specializes in making Toyota Corolla vehicles.
Trainer Jocelin Russell said she's worked there for about six years.
"I got trained on multiple processes," Russell said.
Russell explained that getting trained was nearly all she needed to work on Toyota Corolla vehicles at the facility.
Russell said Toyota has helped her get better in her job and develop in her personal life — in more ways than one.
"Been able to help move up my citizenship process, and I think that's one of the unique things about Toyota," Russell said.
She explained that her family brought her to America when she was only 4 years old. She's been here ever since.
She started working at Toyota at age 18.
At one point, she almost lost her permanent residency, but she said her managers stepped in and got in contact with the company's legal team.
They allowed her, as much as they could, to work until her citizenship was fully granted.
Aaron Foster of Human Resources said the plant makes about 170,000 Corollas a year.
He said a lot of people feel like they need prior experience to work at Resource MFG, but that's not necessarily the case.
"That's what we do, we're here to train, you know, individuals to be experts at their process, to become what we call industrial athletes," Foster explained.
You just have to be 18 years old and be permitted to work.
"Looking for folks who will innovate and are great problem solvers," Foster added.
Russell said new recruits should come in with an open mind and said Toyota has a lot to offer its workers.
"They're constantly innovative and they're constantly collaborating with people," Foster said.
