What is Titan Impact? |
|
Titan Impact is a system of measuring the strength of a storm, using a scale of one to ten. Stronger and more dangerous storms have higher numbers on the scale, based on a number of factors.
With Titan Impact, you can quickly tell how dangerous a storm can become, and act accordingly to protect yourself.

Relatively weak storm with broad upper level rotation. Pea-sized hail or cloud-to-ground lightning is possible. |

Storm is approaching severe limits with the possibility of large hail, damaging winds, and a slight possibility of a tornado. Golf ball-sized hail or winds in excess of 58 MPH are possible. |

Storm is severe. Large hail and damaging winds are likely, along with a moderate risk of a tornado. Golf ball-sized hail or larger is possible, along with winds in excess of 58 MPH. |

 |
|
High probability of a storm producing a tornado and/or widespread damaging straight-line winds and extremely large hail. Most large tornados will occur in this range of values. |
