Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland combined to shoot five-under 67 during the final round in 2011 to claim a 2-stroke victory for the United States over England's Ian Poulter and Justin Rose, and Germany's Martin Kaymer and Alex Cejka.

Kuchar returns to defend his title this year, but with a new partner, Kevin Streelman.

The Americans will face a field that has three major champions - Graeme McDowell, Adam Scott and Vijay Singh.

Scott is coming in on fire after winning consecutive titles in Australia at the Talisker Masters and Australian PGA Championship. He will be partnered with Jason Day.

McDowell, who recently finished fourth in the European Tour's Race to Dubai, will play alongside Shane Lowry.

Singh will not take part in the team competition and will instead try for the individual title.

Golf Channel will have television coverage all four rounds.

The PGA Tour will take next week off before returning in December with Tiger Woods's Northwestern Mutual World Challenge, where McDowell claimed the title last year for the second time in three years.

SOUTH AFRICAN OPEN, Glendower Golf Club, Gauteng, South Africa -- The European Tour opens its 2013-14 season this week with the South African Open.

Last year, Henrik Stenson cruised to a 3-stroke victory over George Coetzee and claim his seventh career win on the European Tour.

Stenson recently closed out an extremely successful 2012-13 campaign where he became the first man to win the Race to Dubai and PGA Tour's FedExCup in the same season. The Swede will not return to defend his title.

The field, however, will include former Masters winner Charl Schwartzel.

Golf Channel will handle television coverage of all four rounds.

The European Tour remains in South Africa next week for the Alfred Dunhill Championship, where Schwartzel claimed a decisive 12-stroke victory last year.

CME GROUP TITLEHOLDERS, Tiburon Golf Club, Naples, Florida -- The LPGA concludes its 2013 season this week with the CME Group Titleholders in Naples, Florida.

Na Yeon Choi carded a 2-under 70 during the final round last year to hang on for a 2-stroke lead over So Yeon Ryu.

Choi will be back to defend her title against a strong field that includes 2011 winner Hee Young Park among 19 of the top 20 players in the world.

The only player ranked inside the top 20 that is not competing is No. 14 Jiyai Shin.

Golf Channel will have television coverage all four rounds.

CHAMPIONS TOUR Q-SCHOOL, TPC Scottsdale, Scottsdale, Arizona -- Seventy-eight players will convene in Arizona this week for the right to play on the Champions Tour next season.

The 72-hole tournament will take place from Tuesday to Friday with a total purse of $200,000.

Among the field will be regional qualifying tournament winners Gene Jones, Lance Ten Broeck, Jeff Brehaut and Scott Dunlap. Brehaut and Dunlap shared medalist honors at the California qualifier.
