Recap: Edmonton vs. Minnesota

Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Devan Dubnyk made 15 saves, Justin Fontaine scored two goals and the surging Minnesota Wild blanked the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 on Friday night at Rexall Place.

Dubnyk registered his fifth shutout in 16 games with the Wild, who are 12-2-2 since acquiring the 6-foot-6 goalie from Arizona last month.

"There's a lot of work to be done, but we're pleased with our game," said Minnesota coach Mike Yeo.

Ben Scrivens stopped 25-of-29 shots as Edmonton dropped its fifth straight home game to Minnesota.

"We definitely didn't have the energy we should have," said Oilers defenseman Mark Fayne. "Having the day off, I thought we should have been a little more fresh."

Fontaine moved to the slot and redirected Christian Folin's point shot past Scrivens 10:18 into the game.

The Wild went up 2-0 when Nino Niederreiter buried a juicy rebound from the doorstep with 4:54 remaining in the first period.

Thomas Vanek fed Jordan Schroeder for a one-timer from below the circle with 4:10 left in the second period.

Fontaine scored his second of the game off a behind-the-net feed from Zach Parise with 1:15 to play in the third period.

Game Notes

Minnesota forward Kyle Brodziak played in his 600th career NHL game ... The Oilers signed forwards Rob Klinkhammer and Ryan Hamilton to one-year contract extensions prior to the game. The club also placed forward Anton Lander (shoulder) on injured reserve.
