Recap: Montreal vs. Los Angeles

Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Jiri Sekac scored two goals, Carey Price made 44 saves and the Montreal Canadiens beat the Los Angeles Kings 6-2 on Friday night.

P.K. Subban and David Desharnais each had a goal and one assist for the Canadiens, who have opened a five-game homestand with consecutive wins.

Drew Doughty scored for the Kings and collected an assist on a goal by Jake Muzzin. Martin Jones gave up all six goals on just 20 shots as Los Angeles suffered its third loss in four games.

Muzzin put the Kings on the board with a point shot that deflected past Price at 3:35 of the third period.

Desharnais buried a pass from P.A. Parenteau on a 2-on-1 rush to make it 4-1 at 9:47, but only 61 seconds later, Doughty beat Price on the short side and over the glove with a slap shot from the right circle.

Sven Andrighetto gave the Canadiens a 5-2 lead when he one-timed Michael Bournival's pass through the five-hole of Jones with 6:01 remaining and Sekac scored his second goal of the game with 4:34 to play.

The Kings had a 14-4 shot advantage in the first period, but trailed by a goal after 20 minutes.

"We came out with a push early, but we didn't capitalize on our chances," Doughty said.

Montreal converted four seconds into a Doughty interference minor. Subban skated to the high slot following a faceoff win by Tomas Plekanec and fired a low snap shot from the high slot that Sekac tipped past Jones at the 8:16 mark.

"The first one was given to (Subban), but it was still a goal no matter what," Sekac said. "I'm more comfortable in each game with (Plekanec). There's a bit of chemistry there."

Jones, coming off shutouts in his last two starts, was beaten on two more long shots inside the first four minutes of the second period.

Montreal began the second on another man advantage and Andrei Markov made it 2-0 at 1:01 when he scored on a one-timer from the point off Sergei Gonchar's cross-ice pass.

Subban then stepped into a drop pass from Dale Weise at the point and blasted it behind Jones at 3:45.
