Recap: Pittsburgh vs. Montreal

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Carey Price turned away 30 shots to lead the Montreal Canadiens in a 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

Max Pacioretty and Tom Gilbert each posted a goal and an assist for the Canadiens, who have ripped off six straight victories. David Desharnais and Alexei Emelin also scored in the win.

"We showed a lot of energy tonight and stuck to the game plan," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said.

In his Pittsburgh debut, David Perron had the only goal of the game for the Penguins, who had a two-game winning streak stopped. Marc-Andre Fleury allowed four goals on 33 shots in the defeat.

Montreal grabbed the lead 2:30 in as Pacioretty snapped home a rebound from the right circle for his 16th goal of the year.

It was a 2-0 game four minutes later when Desharnais took a pass on the fly at the right circle and cranked a big blast that beat Fleury cleanly for his sixth of the season.

The Pens got one back at the midway mark of the first period on a rush play that saw Sidney Crosby slide the disc from the right circle to the slot where Perron shot it home.

"That was probably the best pass I've ever received," said Perron. "I had a good portion of the net to put it in."

Perron was acquired by Pittsburgh on Friday from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Rob Klinkhammer and a 2015 first-round draft pick.

Montreal got the goal back 1:49 into the second as Price made a nice save on Kris Letang and play went the other way. On a 2-on-1, Pacioretty sent the disc from the right boards to the left circle where Gilbert made it a 3-1 game.

Emelin's big blast in the clear from the high slot found the back of the net with 5:52 to play to account for the final score.
