Recap: Boston vs. Ottawa

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Bobby Ryan scored 44 seconds into overtime to lift the Ottawa Senators over the Boston Bruins, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon.

Erik Karlsson controlled a bouncing puck at the right circle and batted a pass in front to Ryan, who pushed the disc across the line.

Mike Hoffman and Kyle Turris scored in regulation for the Senators, who have won two in a row since a three-game skid. Craig Anderson made 26 saves.

Torey Krug and Brad Marchand lit the lamp for the Bruins, who have dropped two straight. Tuukka Rask stopped 23-of-26 shots.

"We've played the last two games well enough to win," Bruins head coach Claude Julien said. "The effort was there."

Marchand scored from the high slot at 10:35 of the third to make it 2-1 Boston.

Shortly after, Boston killed Ottawa's second 5-on-3 power play of the game created when Patrice Bergeron and Adam McQuaid were sent off 1:17 apart. The Senators, though, tied the score 2-2 when Hoffman redirected Eric Gryba's blast from the point past Rask at 15:45.

"They got a bounce on their second goal and we got a bounce on ours. We'll take it," Anderson said.

The Bruins had a chance to take the lead back when Ottawa's Milan Michalek was sent to the box for tripping at the 17:13 mark but the hosts failed to capitalize.

Earlier, Turris broke a scoreless tie at the 12:33 mark of the second period. He gathered a loose puck behind the net and beat Rask from the bottom of the left circle.

The Bruins tied things up at 16:22 on Krug's one-timer from the top of the right circle. A bench minor penalty led to Boston's power-play goal.

Game Notes

McQuaid returned to the lineup after missing the previous 18 games with a broken thumb ... Ottawa went 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Bruins went 1-for-3 ... The Bruins finished their three-game homestand 1-0-2.
