Chicago, IL ( - The Chicago Blackhawks have signed center Brad Richards.

Richards earned $9 million last season in the midst of a lucrative nine- year deal he signed with the New York Rangers in July of 2011. For the upcoming season, however, the 34-year-old pivot will receive a reported $2 million with a no-movement clause included.

Last season, he recorded 20 goals and 31 assists in 82 regular-season tilts, then added five goals and 12 points to the Blueshirts' march to the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals.

Richards, a Cup winner in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning, has participated in 982 regular-season games and accumulated 276 goals with 591 assists while suiting up for the Bolts, Dallas Stars and Rangers.

He has added 33 scores and 57 helpers in 118 postseason appearances, which includes a Conn Smythe Trophy earned during the 2004 playoffs.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Blackhawks agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Peter Regin.

Regin, 28, played in 61 games for the Islanders and Blackhawks last season, notching four goals and seven assists. In 239 NHL games with New York, Chicago and Ottawa, the native of Denmark has posted 23 goals and 66 points.
