Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Kyle Orton did not report for the start of the team's minicamp on Tuesday.

Orton has been absent from the team's facilities all week and will face a $70,000 fine if he does not partake in the opening group activities.

There has been speculation that Orton might want a pay raise due to Tony Romo's injury-prone history or might even retire. He is owed $3.25 million for the 2014 season, the final of his contract.

The 31-year-old started for Dallas in the winner-take-all NFC East loss to Philadelphia in Week 17 last season because of Romo's herniated disc injury.

Orton has played in 75 games across eight seasons with Chicago, Denver, Kansas City and Dallas, compiling a record of 35-35 with 83 touchdowns and 59 interceptions.
