New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman and Carolina Panthers punter Brad Nortman were named the NFC's Player of the Month for December.
McCoy, the Offensive Player of the Month, led the NFL with 598 rushing yards and scored five total touchdowns in the month. He helped the Eagles to a 4-1 record and finished his season with the league lead in rushing yards (1,607) and yards from scrimmage (2,146), setting both Eagles records.
Bowman, the Defensive Player of the Month, recorded 45 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for the 49ers, who went 5-0 in the month.
Nortman, the Special Teams Player of the Month, averaged 48.1 yards per punt and placed eight punts inside the 20-yard line for the Panthers, who went 4-1 in the month.
