Recap: NY Giants vs. Pittsburgh

East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Curtis Painter's 3-yard touchdown pass to Corey Washington late in the fourth quarter led the New York Giants to a 20-16 preseason victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

Painter, who completed all seven of his passes for 68 yards, was efficient, using over seven minutes of the clock with a 12-play, 80-yard drive that culminated in Washington's short touchdown reception.

The Giants' defense stood tall in the final moments, forcing a fumble at their own 27-yard line to seal the win.

Rashad Jennings led New York on the ground with 85 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Eli Manning started the game, but was just 0-for-2 passing.

Ben Roethlisberger played the first drive for Pittsburgh and went 1-for-2, connecting with Dri Archer on a 46-yard pass to help set up Shaun Suisham's 26-yard field goal less than five minutes in.

The Giants immediately countered on the next drive as Jennings rushed down the field on the first play for a 73-yard touchdown.

Josh Brown tacked on a 45-yard field goal with 9:18 to play in the second quarter.

Ryan Nassib, who went 12-for-21 for 81 yards, led the Giants down the field on a 12-play, 44-yard drive that was capped by a Brandon McManus field goal from 46 yards out, giving the Giants a 13-3 lead heading into the half.

In the third quarter, Howard Jones recovered Charles James' muffed punt that led to another Suisham field goal, this time from 38 yards out, getting the Steelers within a touchdown.

Suisham drilled a 32-yard field goal for a 13-9 score early in the fourth.

On the next drive, Nassib fumbled and Jones recovered his second of the game, returning it 28 yards for a touchdown to make it a 16-13 game.
