Orchard Park, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Bills placed cornerback Terrence McGee and offensive tackle Erik Pears on injured reserve amid a flurry of roster moves on Tuesday.

The notoriously brittle McGee has battled knee problems all throughout this season and will end a campaign on IR for the third time in four years. The 32- year-old managed just eight tackles with two passes defensed while appearing in seven games in 2012.

McGee has played in only 22 games over the past three seasons due to various ailments, including a torn patellar tendon that limited the 10-year veteran to six contests in 2011.

Pears started Buffalo's first seven games of this season despite undergoing groin surgery over the summer, but sat out Sunday's 21-9 loss at Houston after aggravating the injury. The seven-year pro was a 16-game starter for the Bills a year ago.

Buffalo also released rookie kicker John Potter, a seventh-round choice by the club back in April's draft who saw action in six games as strictly a kickoff specialist, while promoting wide receiver Marcus Easley to the active roster from the practice squad.

A fourth-round selection by the Bills in 2010, Easley had spent his first two seasons on IR due to a knee injury and a heart condition, respectively.
