Heat sign Andersen for rest of season

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Heat have signed forward/center Chris "Birdman" Andersen for the remainder of the season, the team announced Friday.

Andersen has averaged 3.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in six games for the Heat this season. He was originally signed to a 10-day contract by Miami on Jan. 20 and then re-signed to a second 10-day contract on Jan. 30.

In 32 games, including one start, with Denver last season, Andersen averaged 5.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.
