Recap: New York vs. Memphis

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Randolph had 25 points and 15 rebounds in the Memphis Grizzlies' 95-87 victory over the New York Knicks on Saturday.

Tony Allen tallied 19 points and eight boards for the Grizzlies, who snapped a five-game skid. Jerryd Bayless added 11 points and Kosta Koufos and Ed Davis each donated 10 points.

"I'm trying to get a win, I'm always extra motivated. I love playing in the Garden," said Randolph. "And it's a team I played for. I had a great time when I was here. So it's definitely sweet to get a win here."

Carmelo Anthony ended with 30 points and seven boards for the Knicks, who fell to 4-10 at home this season. J.R. Smith and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 16 points apiece.

The Knicks were outscored 60-28 in the paint and outrebounded 56-29 -- a margin New York coach Mike Woodson called "embarrassing."

"Especially when you start a big lineup," said Woodson. "Tyson (Chandler), (Andrea) Bargnani, Melo, they have to rebound the ball better and we gotta do it as a unit as well. I thought that was the difference, and the fact we gave so much up at the rim. We couldn't keep them out of the paint."

The Grizzlies started the game on a 17-8 run, but the Knicks responded by scoring 10 of the next 12 points. Memphis, however, was able to maintain the lead and held a 25-22 margin after one quarter.

It was New York that got off to a fast start in the second stanza. A quick 6-0 spurt gave the home team a 28-25 edge.

But the Grizzlies took the lead back midway through the period. The visitors went on to score the final five points of the half for a 50-40 margin.

Memphis extended its lead to 14 late in the third stanza, but Hardaway made a 3-pointer with 3.1 seconds left to get the Knicks within 72-61.

New York made things interesting with a 9-0 run late in the fourth quarter. Smith and Anthony connected from beyond the arc and Chandler's free throw with 25.6 seconds remaining cut the gap to 91-87.

Bayless stopped the spurt with a pair of free throws, and after Smith missed a layup, Allen scored to put the game out of reach.
