Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder Matt Kemp from the 15-day disabled list, and he started Tuesday's 6-5 win against the San Francisco Giants.

Kemp went 1-for-4 with a run scored. He is batting .251 in 52 games this season.

Kemp hadn't played since May 29 due to a right hamstring strain. He missed 51 games last season because of an injured left hamstring.

To open a roster spot for Kemp, the Dodgers optioned infielder/outfielder Elian Herrera to Triple-A Albuquerque. He has gone 2-for-7 in three games in two separate stints with the Dodgers this season.
