Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Blue Jays will be getting one of their key injured players back for their critical three-game set with the Baltimore Orioles.

The team activated Brett Lawrie from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, with the infielder expected to be in the lineup for Toronto's series opener against the Orioles.

Lawrie has been sidelined since June 22, when he fractured his right index finger after being hit by a pitch from Cincinnati's Johnny Cueto.

Toronto held a 1 1/2-game lead atop the American League East at the time of Lawrie's injury, but have since fallen four games behind Baltimore for first place in the division after losing him as well as sluggers Edwin Encarnacion and Adam Lind.

Lawrie has slugged a career-high 12 home runs in 69 games this season, while batting .244 with 38 RBI.

Infielder Steve Tolleson was placed on the paternity list prior to Tuesday's game to open up a roster spot.
