Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays have brought pitcher Aaron Laffey back for a second stint after claiming the left-hander off waivers from the New York Mets on Tuesday.

Laffey appeared in 22 games with 16 starts for Toronto last season, posting a 4-6 record with a 4.56 earned run average, but was not re-signed by the club at the conclusion of the 2012 campaign. He inked a minor league deal with the Mets over the winter and was promoted to the team's major league roster in early April, but was designated for assignment by New York on Sunday after allowing eight runs and 16 hits over 10 innings in four appearances (two starts).

To make room for Laffey on the 40-man roster, the Blue Jays transferred injured shortstop Jose Reyes to the 60-day disabled list. The veteran speedster is expected to be sidelined until at least the All-Star break after severely spraining his left ankle on Apr. 12.
