St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - The San Francisco Giants announced Friday pitcher Barry Zito will move to the bullpen.

Zito, who was scheduled to start Sunday, is 0-9 with a 9.97 earned run average in road games this season and has not earned a win since May 30.

Overall on the season, the 35-year-old Zito is 4-8 with a 5.09 ERA.

Guillermo Moscoso, who came from the Cubs in a July trade, will take Zito's place in the rotation. Moscoso, 29, has allowed two runs in 2 2/3 innings this season, all with San Francisco.

Zito, who won the 2002 American League Cy Young Award, is in the final year of a seven-year, $126 million contract he signed with the Giants in 2006. He has an $18 million option for 2014, but will likely receive a $7 million buyout.

In his career, Zito is 164-140 with a 3.98 ERA with Oakland and San Francisco in 421 games, including 415 starts. However, Zito is just 62-77 with a 4.53 ERA in 199 games (193 starts) in seven seasons after signing as a free agent.

Zito went 2-0 with a 1.93 in three starts in the 2012 playoffs en route to the Giants' World Series championship.
