Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Miguel Olivo has been suspended by the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, after an altercation Tuesday in which the catcher bit part of a teammate's ear off.

Scott Boras, the agent for Alex Guerrero, has told multiple outlets his client was bitten by Olivo during an argument in the dugout.

The commotion caused a brief delay in Tuesday's game at Salt Lake City.

Guerrero, a 27-year-old Cuban infielder who inked a four-year, $28 million contract with the Dodgers in October, underwent surgery on the ear, according to reports.

Olivo, who has 145 home runs in 13 MLB seasons, is a part of the Dodgers' 40- man roster and will remain suspended pending the results of an investigation, the team said.
