Park up to No. 2 with fifth major victory

Philadelphia, PA ( - Inbee Park defeated Brittany Lincicome on the first playoff hole to win the LPGA Championship on Sunday and that jumped Park one spot to No. 2 in the world rankings.

Park secured her 11th victory on the LPGA Tour and fifth career major with a par on the first playoff hole, while Lincicome tripped to a bogey. The duo finished regulation at 11-under-par 277.

Stacy Lewis, who finished tied for sixth and six shots back at 5-under in New York, remained the No. 1 player in the world, just in front of Park. Park, last week's No. 3 player in the world, leapfrogged 17-year-old Lydia Ko, who dropped back to No. 3. Ko ended three shots back in third place at minus-8 last week.

Suzann Pettersen, U.S. Open champion Michelle Wie, Lexi Thompson, Shanshan Feng, Karrie Webb and So Yeon Ryu stayed put this week and are four through nine. Anna Nordqvist and Cristie Kerr swapped spots with Nordqvist up one to No. 10.

Angela Stanford and Paula Creamer also traded places and are now 12 and 13, respectively. Lizette Salas and Amy Yang remained at 14 and 15 for another week.

Azahara Munoz, who finished tied for fourth with Nordqvist at 6-under 282 last week, jumped five spots into the top 20 and she is now at No. 16. Jessica Korda was still 17, while Sun Ju Ahn fell a pair to No. 18. Catriona Matthew also dropped a spot to 19 and Na Yeon Choi remained at No. 20.

With her runner-up finish, Lincicome jumped 31 spots to No. 30 in the world.
