I'm
originally from North Mississippi. I first worked for
WTVA from 1993-1999. After a year and a half as a news
producer in Memphis, I rejoined WTVA in 2000 as a reporter/anchor.
I also worked in the early 1990s in Greenville, Mississippi, as a reporter, an
anchor and even a weatherman! I am a graduate of both Northeast Mississippi Community
College and the University of Mississippi.
My journalism professor at Ole Miss, the late Dr. Jim Pratt, once told me
this career provides the opportunity to experience people, places and events
like no other job. His words have not failed me!
In covering stories, I have met so many interesting people in Mississippi and
Alabama. I have interviewed national politicians, movie and television stars,
and other prominent newsmakers who have visited this area.
Perhaps my most exciting assignment was in October 2003, when I visited Dresden,
Germany, to preview the Jackson, Mississippi art exhibition, entitled "The
Glory of Baroque Dresden."
Whatever my next assignment is, I hope our viewers find it interesting. Feel
free to send me any story ideas or comments.
