I
was born in Baton Rouge,LA, lived right outside of Chicago
for about five years, resided in Memphis since 1989,
but I went to college in Tallahassee,FL... confused yet?
Well, to put it quite simply Memphis is truly my home.
While growing up in Memphis, I participated in countless drama and public speaking
competitions so it was pretty clear early on that theater or the television industry
would always play a major role in my life.
It wasn't until I headed down to the sunshine state and enrolled in the journalism
program at Florida A&M University (Go Rattlers!!)that I knew that I wanted
to make news broadcasting a career.
While at FAMU, I was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists,
Kappa Tau Alpha National Journalism Honor Society, as well as the campus radio
and television station.
I also did several internships including ABC News in Atlanta, GA. I graduated
magna cum laude from FAMU in 2002 with a degree in broadcast journalism and a
minor in political science.
When I'm not working I enjoy writing, cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies, or spending
time with my number one fans- my family.
