I
was born in Kansas City, Kansas just in time for the
weather at 10:08 PM. I have been interested in weather
basically since I was three years old.
When I was three, on a June afternoon, a weak tornado passed through my neighborhood.
From then on I have been looking to the sky for the weather. From the 5th Grade
to the 8th Grade I did science projects about the weather. So you can see I am
basically weather crazy.
I spent time as a storm chaser while attending the University of Kansas. Following
graduation, I made my way to Tupelo and started work at WTVA with both the Mornin'
and Noon shows in September of 1989.
When I am not monitoring the weather, I enjoy spending
time with my wife, Adela, and two children John Walter
and Ryan. I am a self
described "junk collector." I
collect just about anything. My other hobbies include
playing video games, watching sports (especially the
Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals), surfing the internet,
and talking about TV and movie trivia.
I am often asked what my favorite movies and tv shows
are? Well, when it comes to movies some of the better
ones are "Once Upon A Time in the West" and "Cinema
Paradiso."
When it comes to TV shows I think "Gunsmoke" & "Quantum Leap" are
a few of the better ones. I am a ham operator and can
also speak Croatian and Spanish.
