David Iversen joined the WTVA News team in May 2009. Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he couldn't be happier to call the Magnolia State his new home.
David got the "news bug" in high school while editing his school's newspaper. Internships at stations in Cedar Rapids and Alexandria, Minnesota allowed him to handle daily writing, filming, and editing for significant news stories, including the 2008 presidential election and the 2009 floods in Fargo. One of David's favorite interviews from this period was a thirty-minute Q&A with then-Senate candidate Al Franken.
While a Husky at Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota, David worked at the campus television station, UTVS, as an anchor and reporter for the live daily newscast. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor of fine arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Rhetorical Science.
Having moved fourteen hours south from Saint Cloud, David brings a value of public service with him. He has dedicated countless hours to various nonprofits and charities, and looks forward to getting involved in serving the Northeast Mississippi community the same way.
