Anchor (Noon), Reporter - e-Mail

I was born in Natchez, Mississippi, and when I was two years old, my family and I moved to the Red Carpet City of Vicksburg. It was there that I enjoyed growing up in historic downtown Vicksburg with the Mississippi River a few blocks from my home as well as beautiful antebellum houses and civil war battlefields right around the corner.

As early as the second grade, I knew that I had been bitten by the writing bug! Even as a young girl I loved to write, and I especially loved to talk! Two things which have helped me as a journalist! Throughout my time at Vickburg High School I was involved in public speaking and wrote for my school newspaper.

After graduation, I attended the University of Mississippi, which was a family tradition I knew I wanted to continue. So, I happily made Oxford my home for the next few years. While at Ole Miss I was involved on campus, and was fortunate enough to be elected Ole Miss Homecoming Queen in 2000. I was also very honored to serve as an intern with the Ole Miss Alumni Association where I worked as an assistant editor for the Ole Miss Alumni Review Magazine. After graduating from Ole Miss in Journalism, I headed back home to start my career.

My next step was working for a weekly SEC Football Magazine, Southeastern Football Saturdays , as an assistant editor. For a year I traveled throughout the Southeastern Conference setting up promotional events for the magazine, all the while, enjoying one of my favorite events, college football! With most of my experience in print journalism, I knew that I wanted to expand my journalism work and focus on broadcasting.

In 2004 , I served as a broadcast intern at WTVA. It was here that I quickly learned that I wanted to make news broadcasting my career. Soon after I completed my internship, I was asked to join the award winning team at WTVA/WLOV.

When I am not working, I love spending time with my younger sister, Lana Claire, my parents, Winky and Debbie, and our two yorkies, Sadie and Mac! I also have lots of family in North Mississippi, so I am enjoying making Tupelo my new home!
