ECRU, Miss. (WTVA) -- Louise Mounce was the center of attention Sunday. It's a position she said she was not too prepared for.
"I told them that it's too much," Louise Mounce said.
Family, friends and Ecru community members all got together to celebrate her 100th birthday.
"It's a blessing in itself," Louise's great-granddaughter Brittany McGee said. "I woke up this morning thankful that God allowed me to share this day with her."
Louise has lived in Ecru all of her life and she said the town has changed quite a bit.
"I don't know everybody in Ecru now," Louise Mounce said. "I used to... so many new people moved in."
That's the reason her family said they wanted to throw her a party.
"She gets to see people she hasn't seen in a long time and that's good. It gets her spirits up," Brittany McGee said.
The party was held at Ecru Baptist Church, where Louise attends service.
But they say she is more than just a member; she used to be the church's custodian for several years.
"She's influenced me and my whole family to strive to serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, day-in and day-out," Brittany McGee said.
All of Louise's family said she is a caring person.
Her daughter describes her as her best friend.
"She was always there for me and she really was just a loving person," Louise's daughter Mabel Mounce McGee said.
But they said Louise didn't stop there.
She reached out to all members of her family.
"She's been like a mother to me," Louise's niece Carolyn Mounce said. "I guess she's like a second mother."
Her whole family said she is not going anywhere any time soon.
"I'm just grateful," Carolyn Mounce said. "We all figure we probably won't make it to 100 like she is."
Louise said she feels like her 100th birthday is just like any other day of the year.
She said she is happy to still be here.
