CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA)--A woman is listed in critical condition following a brutal stabbing Saturday afternoon at a home on County Road 437.
Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan tells WTVA.com that a 17-year-old boy is behind bars following the incident near Vardaman.
The victim, Shelia Hughes, 45, was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center.
Pollan says Hughes was stabbed in the back by the teen following or during an argument.
The sheriff says the suspect used a ten inch butcher knife.
The stabbing took place at the home of the suspect's father.
Pollan says Hughes is the father's girlfriend.
