WTVA to broadcast ABC-TV

The ABC Television Network has entered into an affiliation agreement with WTVA to broadcast the full ABC Television Network programming schedule in the Columbus/Tupelo/West Point television market, utilizing WTVA digital channel 9.2, it was announced today by John Rouse, senior vice president of Affiliate Relations for ABC and Phil Sullivan, Station Manager, WTVA.

The high-definition affiliation becomes effective on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 (12:35 a.m. CT.)

Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Sullivan of WTVA said, “We are delighted to reach a long-term affiliation agreement with ABC and be able to provide a solid line-up of programming such as Modern Family, Dancing with the Stars, Once Upon A Time, Revenge and Jimmy Kimmel Live; critically-acclaimed news and information series including Good Morning America and World News with Diane Sawyer; and high profile sports programming like Saturday Night Football.

"We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with WTVA coverage in the Columbus/Tupelo market, and that local viewers will continue to be able to see all their favorite ABC and ESPN on ABC programs including this Saturday’s 2012 Cowboys Classic featuring Michigan vs. Alabama” said Mr. Rouse.

As part of the new affiliation, WTVA 9.2 will service the ABC viewers with local news coverage.

Previously, ABC was affiliated with WKDH which will cease operations as of 11:59 p.m. CT, August 31, 2012.

ABC-WTVA is available the following ways:

Over-the-air on Channel 9.2 in HD

Comcast on channel 7 and channel 431 in HD

Direct TV on channel 10 in HD

Dish on channel 45 in HD

MetroCast on channel 6 and channel 706 in HD

MetroCast for Holly Springs, Ashland, Snow Lake, Potts Camp and Hickory Flats on channel 11 and channel 711 in HD

Cable One on channel 12, channel 455 in HD and on MeTV 394

In addition, we want you to know WLOV is on channel 9 on Cable One, channel 475 in HD and channel 476 onThisTV
