VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) - Verona police tonight continue to investigate a confrontation that ultimately sent three people to the hospital.

Verona Police Chief Anthony Anderson tells that authorities received a call around 7:50 p.m. and that it appears the incident happened in Verona at the Nest Apartments but spilled over into the Barley Court store and Barley Court Apartments.

They say the confrontation involved a man and a woman.

Police say the man was cut badly, and the woman suffered a stab wound to the hand.

Verona police say the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Authorities say another woman was taken to the hospital due to sickness.
