Tupelo, Miss. (WTVA) -- Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine Green identifies man shot and killed this morning in Tupelo as Bradley Nance, 41, of Tupelo.
Green says Nance lived just up the same street from the home where he was shot.
The coroner says Nance was shot once in the chest with what appears to be a .410 shotgun.
Police say they were called to the home around 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning to a home on Springdale Drive.
On Thursday afternoon, Tupelo Police Chief Tony Carleton told WTVA.com that they were not officially calling this morning's incident an intruder shooting.
But, he says the family member that did live in the house said that the incident got to the point that the felt threatened.
Tupelo police also say that the man shot was on the home's back patio near a bedroom door.
Chief Carleton said on Thursday afternoon that they were still following through on the investigation.
