SILVER SPRING, Md. (WTVA) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says an UNCLE BEN’S® product is being recalled because it contains a source of gluten not declared on the product packaging.

Mars Food North America issued the recall as a precaution, because two lot codes of UNCLE BEN’S® READY RICE® Garden Vegetable with Peas, Carrots & Corn pouches were filled with a different product that contains barley, a non-wheat source of gluten.

The products are labeled with "Best Before Date 06/15 MADE IN CANADA” and with one of the following lot codes: 422GBBFP1L OR 422GBBFP1R, 423AABFP1L OR 423AABFP1R.

The company says less than 2,000 cases are affected.

No illnesses have been reported at this time.

Products can be returned to where it was purchased.

For more information or assistance, contact Mars Food North America toll free at 1-800-548-6253 or on the company website at www.mars.com.
