NEAR VARDAMAN, Miss. (WTVA) -- Bond has been set at $200,000 for a Calhoun County teenager charged with aggravated assault following a weekend stabbing.
Authorities say Tyler Douglas Haire, 17, used a ten-inch knife to stab Shelia Hughes, 45, in the back at his father's home on County Road 437 near Vardaman Saturday afternoon.
Sheriff Greg Pollan tells WTVA the stabbing took place during an argument between the two in the kitchen at the home.
Sheriff Pollan says Hughes was airlifted to the North Mississippi Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition Saturday.
The sheriff says Hughes is Haire's father's girlfriend.
