IUKA, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Tishomingo County man considered a "person of interest" in a Friday morning shooting is now in custody and faces two charges.
Sheriff Glen Whitlock tells WTVA.com Kevin Ceron Swinney, 30, of Tishomingo was arrested Friday afternoon.
Authorities were searching for him following a shooting in the Carter's Branch community northeast of the town of Tishomingo around 3 a.m.
Deputies say family members found the victim a couple of hours after the shooting in the front yard of the home.
He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Chief Deputy Jeff Palmer told WTVA.com Friday morning the inside of the home showed signs of a struggle before the shooting took place.
Swinney left the scene of the shooting in a white Chevrolet pickup with damage to the front end, but the truck was later found in Iuka.
Late Friday authorities told WTVA.com that Swinney has been charged with Grand Larceny and Aggravated Assault in this case.
WTVA News also has learned Swinney pleaded guilty in April of last year to attempted assault in Colbert County, Alabama.
He was sentenced to time served and probation.
The plea agreement mentions Swinney as a disabled military veteran.
The documents ordered him to seek and continue mental health treatment with the Veteran's Administration as a condition of the court accepting his plea agreement.
