TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The cause of a fire on Gloster Street near Crosstown remains under investigation by the Tupelo Fire Department.
The fire was reported at the building that housed Crosstown Pawn Shop and Money Now around 4 p.m. Saturday.
Tupelo Fire Capt. Michael Montgomery said it took a good half hour to get the fire put out.
Authorities completely closed that section of South Gloster Street near Costume World for more than an hour before allowing some traffic to pass through.
Montgomery said South Gloster was fully opened shortly after 8 p.m.
He said investigators will not be able to start sifting through the building's remains until Sunday because the temperature of the materials is still too hot to examine.
Montgomery said Crosstown Pawn Shop and Money Now are considered a total loss; a tattoo business located in the building sustained significant water damage as well.
The cause has not yet been determined.
