TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Tupelo City Council has approved Mayor Jack Reed Junior's nominee for the city school board.
Reed nominated Joe Babb for the Tupelo Public School District's Board of Trustees.
"I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to join the Tupelo Public School District Board of Trustees. I am honored and humbled," said Babb.
The City Council confirmed the appointment Tuesday evening.
Originally from Ripley, Babb is a 31-year-old accountant who works and lives in Tupelo.
Babb said one of his main focuses will be on the continuation of uniting the community through excellence in public schools.
