OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- The U. S. Forest Service has named the new district ranger for the Holly Springs and Tombigbee National Forests.

Caren Briscoe, the current Program Manager and NEPA Coordinator on the Holly Springs Ranger District, assumes the position she held in an interim posts for the past four months.

A native of New York, Briscoe moved to North Mississippi several years ago.

She says the employees of both districts are a good bunch of people who care about the forests.
